Living Worlds: August!

That’s right, it’s a new month, and the Living Worlds app is updated with a new scene! We are out of the dry July desert and into the lovely August ocean. These scenes are all different from each other, but this one is maybe a little more different, being the only underwater scene, and filled with life. It’s been wonderful to finally get the fish back in there!

I know aquarium simulations are kind of a cliché (even if they were still hot and new back in 1993 when these scenes were made), but there’s something undeniably pleasing about seeing the fish float past and the light undulating with the waves above. This is classic live wallpaper material.

Unfortunately, just before the August release, Android Chrome/WebView 76 started rolling out, and it breaks the Living Worlds live wallpaper feature on Android phones. It’s expected to be fixed in the next version of WebView, releasing in September. I’ve written up a full post with more info.
